Places to visit

Places introduced by local governments, tourism associations or the work’s official channels.

  1. 1

Old Public Hall of Hakodate Ward

    📍 Motomachi, Hakodate, Hokkaido

A Meiji-era Western-style building in Hakodate's Motomachi district. It holds the official 88 Anime Spots plaque and goshuin (commemorative stamp) marking Hakodate's selection as a Love Live! Sunshine!! spot, and it makes a handy starting point for exploring Motomachi's hillside streets and harbor views.

⚠️ You need to enter the building to see it. The slopes around Motomachi are lined with homes, so take photos briefly from the sidewalk.

  2. 2

    Awashima Marine Park (Awashima Island)

    📍 Uchiura, Numazu, Shizuoka

A marine leisure facility on Awashima, a small island just off Uchiura. According to the Anime Tourism Association, the island's hotel and its frog museum are the models for a character's home.

⚠️ You reach the island by boat. The hotel is for staying guests only, so if you are not a guest, just admire it from outside.

  3. 3

    Mito Beach

    📍 Uchiura Mito, Numazu, Shizuoka

A beach in the Uchiura Mito area facing Suruga Bay, where the seaside scenery of the story's setting spreads out before you. On clear days you may even see Mt. Fuji across the water.

⚠️ This is the shoreline of a fishing village where locals live and work. Avoid parking on the road or making loud noise.

  4. 4

    Izu-Mito Sea Paradise

    📍 Uchiura, Numazu, Shizuoka

An aquarium in the Mito area, introduced by the Anime Tourism Association as one of the sights around the story's setting.

Etiquette

Pilgrimage etiquette

  • ✓Uchiura and Mito are small towns that live on fishing and tourism. Do not enter private property or working areas of the harbor.
  • ✓Avoid long photo sessions in front of homes or on narrow streets, and do not park on the road.
  • ✓The hillside streets of Motomachi in Hakodate are residential too. Be careful not to capture passers-by in your photos.
Tips

Tips

  • •The easiest way to reach the Uchiura area of Numazu is by bus from Numazu Station. Awashima and Mito are on the same bus route, so you can visit them together.
  • •Hakodate and Numazu are far apart, so it works best to fit Hakodate into a wider Hokkaido trip.
