How to choose

Hakone is made up of several separate hot spring areas. From the gateway town of Hakone-Yumoto, the mountain railway, cable car, ropeway and buses climb to Gora and Lake Ashi higher up. Stay in Yumoto if easy access matters most, or choose Gora, Sengokuhara or the Lake Ashi area to enjoy mountain scenery and art museums.
