Overview

An onsen area in Matsuyama with a history said to be the oldest in Japan. At all three public baths, including Dogo Onsen Honkan, you can enjoy free-flowing spring water on a day trip. It is about 43 minutes by bus from Matsuyama Airport and about 25 minutes by tram from JR Matsuyama Station.

Dogo Onsen Honkan, at the center of the onsen town, is fully open after about six years of preservation and restoration work. Together with Dogo Onsen Annex Asuka-no-Yu and Tsubaki-no-Yu, you can visit three public baths. There are also free foot baths at places such as Hojoen and Sora no Sampomichi, which you can enjoy along with a stroll through the shopping arcade.
