Tips

Tips

  • •Ginzan Onsen has only a few inns, and they are especially hard to book in winter, so reserve early.
  • •The Zao snow monster light-up is held only on certain nights. If you want to see it at night, staying at Zao Onsen on day 2 and making it a 3-day, 2-night trip keeps things manageable.
  • •The stone steps at Yamadera and the streets of the hot spring town freeze, so shoes with anti-slip soles are essential.
  • •The area around the summit station is prone to strong winds, so bring winter gear that can cover your face.
