Overview

Overview

A fireworks competition where pyrotechnicians from across Japan compete for the Prime Minister's Award. A distinctive feature is that the pyrotechnicians launch shells they made themselves with their own hands, and you can enjoy everything from daytime fireworks while it is still light to the night fireworks. Viewing is basically from paid viewing seats.

Fireworks makers from across Japan compete in three categories: daytime fireworks, No. 10 shells and creative fireworks. Fireworks reflected on the Omono River against the Dewa Hills are a highlight. There are also a special program by the previous year's Prime Minister's Award winner and fireworks provided by the organizers.
