Overview

Overview

An onsen area with silky, smooth water, counted among Japan's three great hot springs for beautiful skin. With the opening of Ureshino-Onsen Station on the Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen, it has become easier to reach from Hakata and Nagasaki. Public baths and free foot baths let you enjoy the water casually.

It is a sodium bicarbonate spring rich in sodium, said to leave your skin smooth after bathing. In the center of the onsen town is the public bath Siebold-no-Yu, which also has private baths. You can also walk to Toyotamahime Shrine, dedicated to the goddess of beautiful skin, and along the path beside the Ureshino River.
