How to choose

Central Kobe is compact, stretching from the Sannomiya terminal to Motomachi and Harborland on the waterfront and Kitano and Shin-Kobe on the hillside. Choose Sannomiya or Motomachi for exploring and dining, Harborland or Port Island for harbor night views and family outings, and Arima Onsen, on the north side of Mt. Rokko, to relax in the hot springs.

Tips

Tips for choosing a hotel

  • •Much of central Kobe is walkable from Sannomiya, so staying in either Sannomiya or Motomachi keeps travel to a minimum.
  • •The ryokan experience is the highlight of Arima Onsen, so we recommend a separate night there apart from your hotel in central Kobe.
  • •Choose based on how you arrive: Shin-Kobe Station if you use the shinkansen, and Port Island or Sannomiya, with easy access to Kobe Airport, if you fly.
