Highlights

In November, about 120 kinds of moss form a green carpet, in vivid contrast with about 200 maples turning crimson, yellow and scarlet. It is the season when the garden is at its most brilliant.

From major stations & airports: Hakone-Yumoto Station: Hakone Tozan Railway to Gora Station, then transfer to the cable car to Koen-kami Station
By car & parking: Free parking available (9:00–17:00)
Getting back: Roads in Hakone tend to be congested in the autumn leaves season, so taking the Tozan Railway back is recommended
