Overview

Overview

A winter festival held every February in Asahikawa, Hokkaido's second-largest city. At the Asahibashi Riverside Site on the bank of the Ishikari River, a giant snow sculpture of overwhelming scale — around 140 m wide and 20 m tall — takes center stage. At the Heiwa-dori Kaimono Koen Site in front of the station, ice sculptures line the street, and you can also enjoy snow slides, winter fireworks, and the "Winter Marché" of local food.
