Overview

A JR Central and JR West tourist pass for international visitors that takes you from Nagoya through Takayama, Shirakawa-go, Kanazawa and Toyama and on to Osaka and Kansai Airport. In addition to limited express trains on JR conventional lines and the Hokuriku Shinkansen (Toyama–Tsuruga), it covers highway buses such as Takayama–Shirakawa-go–Kanazawa with 5 days of unlimited rides.

Ordinary-car reserved seats on conventional limited express trains within the area (Hida, Thunderbird, etc.) and the Hokuriku Shinkansen can be reserved up to 6 times in total at no extra charge. From the 7th time, use non-reserved seats

Good to know

  • !Buses to Shirakawa-go get crowded, so book early once your schedule is set
  • !The Shin-Takaoka–Shirakawa-go bus does not require a reservation
  • !Using the Shinkansen between Kyoto and Shin-Osaka costs extra, so take the conventional line
