Hakone-Yumoto, Gora, Lake Ashi, Owakudani
A hot spring resort about 1.5 hours from Tokyo by train. The higher you go — from Hakone-Yumoto up to Gora and Lake Ashi — the cooler it gets. Hakone has no Japan Meteorological Agency station that records temperature, so this page uses data from Gotemba, which is at about the same elevation as the Gora area. Hakone gets a lot of rain.
