Home to two of Hokkaido's best-known hot spring resorts, Noboribetsu Onsen and Lake Toya Onsen. Close to the sea, it gets little snow for Hokkaido and has a mild climate, making it easy to visit year-round. Temperature data is from the nearby Muroran weather station.

A marine park centered on a castle-shaped aquarium, a 5-minute walk from JR Noboribetsu Station. It exhibits about 20,000 creatures of some 400 species, making it one of the largest in Hokkaido. It's easy to stop by from Noboribetsu Onsen or New Chitose Airport.
