Highs around 22°C. Pleasant weather for walking around the city
March is when warmth returns to Okinawa. Naha's high is 21.9°C, with mornings around 17°C. There are fewer days of northerly winds and more sunny, comfortable ones. From late in the month, beaches on Ishigaki and around the main island open for the season, kicking off the time for fun in the sea. The water is still on the cool side, though, so a wetsuit is a good idea if you plan to swim. Tourist numbers start to rise with spring break.
Temperature, precipitation and sunshine are climate normals (1991-2020). Sunset is for March 15.

Every February, many of Japan's professional baseball teams hold spring training camps in warm Okinawa; in 2026, nine teams (first and second squads combined) plus Korean teams gathered at sites around the prefecture. In Naha, the Yomiuri Giants hold camp at Okinawa Cellular Stadium Naha in Onoyama Park, where practice games and preseason games are also played. Watching practice is generally free, and it's a rare chance to see players up close.
