Miyazu, Amanohashidate, Ine
Amanohashidate, one of Japan's Three Scenic Views, and Ine, with its funaya boathouses lining the waterfront. Located on the Sea of Japan coast in northern Kyoto Prefecture, it gets a lot of snow in winter and has a completely different climate from Kyoto City (temperatures are for Maizuru City).
